Italian Dressing

Italian dressing is great on salads or makes a great marinade.

I love to a good steak that has been marinade in Italian Dressing!

Doesn’t that just look delicious!

Add some corn on the cob, baked potato and a garlic bread and it makes an amazing steak even more amazing!

Italian Dressing Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. onion powder
  • 2 tbsp. oregano
  • 1 tbsp. dried parsley
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. ground basil
  • 1/4 tsp. ground thyme
  • 1/2 tsp. dried celery


  1. Mix all ingredients in a air tight container.
  2. Use 2 tbsp. of Italian Dressing mix, 1/4 cup vinegar, 2 tbsp. water and 2/3 cup olive oil.
  3. Marinade a steak for at least an hour (longer is better), grill as long as desired.

Lyndsey’s Amazing Meatloaf

Amazing is in the title, therefore it must be amazing!



  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 box of Stouffers Chicken Stuffing
  • 2 cans Campbell’s Beef Gravy
  • 2 egg
  • 1 cup(ish) water


  1. Cover two cookie sheets with aluminum foil, for easy clean up!
  2. Mix ground beef, stuffing, one can of beef gravy, eggs and water. I fill the gravy can with water…it’s about 1 cup if you want to be technical.
  3. Make four mini loaves on two cookie sheets, making indent on top of each loaf.
  4. Use over can of gravy on top of each loaf.
  5. Bake at 350F for about 60 minutes.

Hamburger Muffins

Hamburger muffins are a great alternative to actual hamburgers.

Add any/all your favorite burger fixings to these. It’s great for when you don’t want to pull out of grill (or if you are like me and currently don’t have your grill).



  • 1 lb burger
  • Pillsbury Grand
  • Ketchup
  • Shredded Cheese
  • Favorite Burger Toppings


  1. Fry burger and drain.
  2. Mix in ketchup (mustard and mayo is desired), add 1/2 bag of shredded cheese.
  3. Flatten each Grand and place into muffin pan.
  4. Add burger mixture to each “muffin”.
  5. Top with more shredded cheese.
  6. Cook according to the package of Pillsbury Grands.
  7. Add any additional burger toppings of your choosing.

Oh how I love tacos. You not what’s almost as good as homemade Tacos….Dorito Tacos from Taco Bell.

If only I could buy Dorito Taco Taco Shells I would be a very happy camper.

Let me explain something to you, I am a very frugal (or in my mom’s words I’m cheap) but I don’t like to waste money on things that I can make for much much cheaper. I honestly don’t even know what a packet of taco seasoning mix cost anymore but I’m going to guess around $1.25. Other things that I don’t waste my money on paper plates, napkins, paper towels (I have them but I use them very very sparingly) and plastic silverware; I literally see it as just throwing my money right into the trash (not judging if you use those items). And yes, I will probably be one of those people that uses cloth diapers.

Anyways, back to tacos.


All of my favorite taco fixings.

Taco Seasoning:

Ingredients: Combine in air tight contrainer.

  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper


  1. Brown 1 pound of burger and drain.
  2. Add 2 tbsp of taco seasoning and 1/2 cup of water.
  3. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add to taco shells with the rest of the your favorite taco fixings.
